Larke is a selective weed killer spray which helps control and manage perennial weeds in grassland, and paddocks. Containing 750g/l MCPA, it is ideal for targeting a wide range of annual and perennial weeds in established grassland. In particular, Larke provides excellent control of plantains and annual weeds. It can also be used to control many other broadleaved weeds as well as providing useful control of rushes.

Larke can be tank mixed with herbicides containing other active substances to increase the number of weed species that are targeted. A recommended tank mix for excellent control of ragwort is:

  • Thrust at 3.5l/ha + Larke at 1.25l/ha

Application Information

Where to apply

This herbicide is ideal for use on established grassland such as horse and pony paddocks for the control of annual and perennial broad-leaved weeds.

When to apply

Larke can be applied throughout the growing season, from March onwards. Annual weeds will be most effectively controlled if they are sprayed when the majority of weeds are seedlings. Perennial weeds should be sprayed when they are reached maximum growth.

How to apply

Larke can be applied using a vehicle mounted boom sprayer

  • Half fill the spray tank with water
  • Add the required amount of Larke and agitate to ensure thorough mixing
  • Add the remaining water and continue to agitate until thoroughly mixed
  • Apply the spray to the grass at a rate of 1.8-2.2l/ha
  • After spraying clean all spraying equipment inside and out, rinsing with water three times before leaving to drain and dry

Additional Information

  • Apply when growing conditions are favourable
  • A top dressing ten days before treatment will assist weed kill and subsequent recovery of the grass
  • Grass that will be used for hay or silage should be treated 3-4 weeks before cutting
  • Larke can check the growth of clover but it will recover by the following spring
  • Follow up applications may be required where new seedling weeds appear leaving an interval of 4-6 weeks between applications
  • Do not roll or harrow within one week of spraying
  • Do not mow within four days of spraying
  • Only use on established grass
  • Avoid spray drift contacting non-target plants
  • When ragwort is present exclude animals until any ragwort has either completely recovered or has died with no visible sign of the dead weed (up to 6 weeks)

Any applicable delivery charges will be calculated at checkout. Certain products qualify for next working day delivery if ordered before 1pm, excluding bank holidays and the festive season. Please be aware that deliveries to remote areas, including the Highlands and Cornwall, may take longer. A signature is required upon delivery. If no one is available, you can leave a signed note for the driver requesting the parcel be left in a secure location without a signature. However, please be aware that this is done at your own risk and is subject to the driver's discretion.

For large orders, please be aware that if you require a smaller 7.5 tonne lorry, the maximum weight for pallets is 750kg - otherwise the standard pallet size limit of 1000kg applies.

Please note:

  • For deliveries that require a pallet, the pallet/packaging itself is the customer's responsibility and will not be uplifted or taken upon delivery.
  • Deliveries are kerb side only.
  • It is possible a pallet order can be delivered on a vehicle up to the size of a 26T lorry.
