Helly Hansen Chosen by the Masters 'Boys in Blue'

The Grove
The British Masters, held this year at The Grove, is one of the most lucrative and prestigious European golf events. To ensure the appropriate attention and detail went into this year's tournament, Course Manager Phillip Chiverton assembled a team of 77 Greenkeepers to carefully prepare and manage the course in advance and over the course of the tournament.

With the late autumnal conditions, Phill approached David Whitaker of Amenity Land Solutions (ALS) to ensure the team were kitted in out in presentable modern, warm and waterproof Helly Hansen workwear.

The permanent Greenkeeping team at The Grove use Helly Hansen workwear, so Phill had an understanding of Helly Hansen's workwear range and their patented Helly Tech ® technology. It was vital to Phill that with demands of the tournament the team were comfortable and dry no matter what weather conditions they had to work through.

Helly Tech® is the waterpoof/breathable outer layer with a unique membrane that stops water molecules going in, but lets moisture molecules escape. Keeping users dry from the outside and comfortable on the inside.

As it happened extremely high rainfall occurred on the Sunday morning and the team were out preparing the final day in difficult conditions. Phill described the Waterloo jackets and trouser sets as "perfect and fit for purpose" in helping to keep the team warm, dry and focused on the important tasks in hand.

With the distinguishable 'Waterloo racing blue' printed designs the Greenkeeping team were referred to by Sky Sports presenters as 'The Boys in Blue' throughout the televised coverage.
