The Greenhouse Meadow pitch at Shrewsbury Town Football Club has benefited from undertaking a nutrient programme provided by Amenity Land Solutions (ALS).
Having undergone renovation by the ALS contracts team, the pitch has been the subject of a tailored programme of nutrients and carbohydrates. Dave Saltman, Managing Director of Maxwell Amenity (the parent company of ALS) has overseen the work, agronomy and maintenance of the pitch working with longstanding Shrewsbury Groundsman Richard Barnett, who has joined the ALS team. They are delighted by the progress the pitch has made.
To address nutrient imbalances within the soil profile, a PWS Comprehensive Analysis was undertaken at the end of last season, from there a tailored agronomy programme was devised for the stadium pitch.
According to Dave; "The pitch has benefited from utilising a combination of fertilisers including LebanonTurf, Everris and Maxwell analyses. We have supplemented this with SeaAction Seaweed and Biomass Sugar applications, and micronutrients from the Maxwell Bullet range. Root development and overall plant response has been excellent. To date we are extremely pleased with the performance and presentation of the pitch."
Shrewsbury Team Manager Micky Mellon and all the squad have been impressed with the standard of the pitch with Town boss declaring to supporters;
"You will be able to see the work that has taken place on the pitch and the perfect condition that it is in today. Credit must go to the team at ALS (Amenity Land Solutions) who have come in to take over the maintenance of the pitch. The work that Dave and Richard have done over the summer has seen a transformation in the quality of the playing surface. At times last season it let us down but now we have a pitch which would not be out of place in any stadium in this country."
