When these fungicides are applied, most of the active ingredient is initially held on, or within, the waxy cuticle of plant surfaces. Some of the active ingredient “leaks” into the underlying plant cells.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePyraclostrobin has an affinity for the waxy cuticle and quickly rebinds to the cuticle on the far side of the leaf blade. Thus, the fungicide can be found on both leaf surfaces, even if only one leaf surface was treated. Translaminar movement can take one to several days to be fully effective.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eApplication timing:\u003c\/b\u003e Pyraclostrobin is best applied preventatively when disease risk is high but symptoms on the leaf are not yet visible.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eResistance:\u003c\/b\u003e QoI fungicides have a highly specific mode of action in which only one biochemical site is targeted within the fungal cell. Therefore resistance can occur from just one mutation of that single site.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eQoI fungicides must be alternated with products with a different mode of action.
