ALS Profile

ALS was formed in January 1988 by its current owners who had many years' previous experience in amenity and agricultural agronomy. Our objective was to create a specialist amenity horticulture supply company with high levels of professionalism and service for the sports turf and amenity planting & landscaping industries.

From the beginning 'supply and apply' contract services formed about one third of our business, with the other two thirds being supply of products and advice.

At ALS we currently employ around thirty staff, twelve of whom are professionally qualified amenity agronomists with BASIS and NPTC qualifications and many years' diverse experience to offer. All such advice is supplied free with our goods and services.

We are main distributors for a number of leading amenity product suppliers such as Bayer Environmental Science, Everris, Limagrain, DLF Seeds, Albaugh Europe, Cheminova, Lebanon Seaboard, Brintons, Headland and numerous others.

In addition we have a number of exclusive products and services such as the Rubberloc® range of rubber tree ties and blocks which we manufacture and market, the EasySpray CDA® range of CDA herbicides and applicators and our Natural Solutions® range of plant health products that move away from using pesticides and chemical fertilisers.

Product supply falls into two main categories, namely sports turf products and planting products.

Contract services are various but fall into three main categories, namely pesticide spraying, turf renovation services and turf drainage services. Spraying covers a wide area of operations from sports turf to highways and streets and bracken spraying to aquatic weed control. We guarantee all our work to a high standard and have an excellent performance record with a large number of prestigious customers repeatedly using our services.
